"Truimphant"
Inspired by Steve McCurry's portrayal of a monk in Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, Tibet, this painting feels very close to my heart. It is a discerning image of wisdom in the face of adversity, temptations and tragedies in life. To perceive failure as a gift, an another opportunity to be fearless in the pursuit of a meaningful life. And more importantly, to not be afraid to risk.

"Ray of light"
Started with a leave and this happened. I have this affinity for abstract art, probably because it gives me more freedom to go beyond, to take the viewer on their own mental plane. What I see is more likely to be different from how you see it, and that’s the interesting part.

“We are all the same”

This painting sums up my agitation and amusement about what is happening around the world and in my community. The focus is on differences over similarities, hate over love, bombs over balloons, surnames over hugs, and regions over recess. They all bore me to no end. Call me an idealist but most of the good things you see around you stemmed from someone who cared enough to think, idealize and create. And we do have the power to create that space, that environment we instinctively aspire for. Only, if we just care enough to raise our consciousness and see “person” rather than “people.”

Self-reflection

How often do you
sit and think
and examine yourself?
How often do you
push yourself
to create a path
for you when you see none?
How often do you
feel proud of,
of who you are?
Be anything but too comfortable
with yourself,
with your life.
Not wanting more to learn
feels comfortable,
and so does doing nothing.
Don't you ever get
too comfortable.
